Open on select afternoons. Chai on the table, no music, no obligation to talk to anybody. Sit with a book for as long as you like.

How borrowing works

three small rules

I Two months to return Long enough to read it slowly, short enough that the next reader gets a turn. Every borrowing is entered in the ledger.

II Write in our journal A date, a name, a line about what you thought — leave it in the Journal so the next reader finds it.

III Always via the shelf Books come back to us first — never hand one to another reader directly. If somebody else wants it, ask us and we will reissue it to them.

Leave a book, take a book

The shelf only grows because readers add to it. Bring literature you would recommend to a friend — a book you loved, not one you were clearing out. Nothing you would otherwise sell as raddi.
