“It started with six people and a borrowed living room.”
Only you can see these empty frames. Visitors see the masthead without them until a photo is set.
In 2022 we wanted something simpler than a book club: a room where people read aloud, argued kindly, and stayed long after the chapter ended.
No reading lists. No homework. No performance — just the pleasure of a passage read out to people who care what happens next. We opened to a random page because choosing felt like work, and reading should not.
What began in a living room now runs as editions — in reading rooms, in cafés, on hillsides and beside rivers. The format barely changed. We still read aloud. We still dramatize the good bits. Somebody still forgets to return a book, and we still forgive them.
How it grew
four years, roughlyIf you have been meaning to read more, or simply want an evening that feels unhurried, come to an edition. Bring nothing. We will hand you a book.
