Notes from Gajner

I am Samir. I joined PDBC this year…

Books have been around me since ages. Once they joined me, they never left. They created a world of fantasy for me.

Then came the era of Work & Logic & Self Help books…

And then came PDBC. The joy of reading. Fiction & Philosophy. Biographies & Travelogues. The aroma of old pages & editions. The company of dreamers, buried under literature.

Then Gajner happened. Hats off to Priya & Chirag for organising such a retreat. And to Bharath, Bhavika & Mitesh for making it so interactive & interesting.

The train trip was a reminder of past travels, a unique experience for some among us.

The palace itself, a centuries old hunting lodge for the royals of Bikaner, now offered us an ideal stage for our book reading sessions on the bank of a lake.

The enjoyable camel ride and the early morning wild life excursion with a sumptuous outdoor breakfast was quite invigorating.

All our spare time was filled with outdoor games & activities, led by Bhavita ji and the splendid calligraphy class, conducted by Bharath.

The historical trip of the palace grounds & the Janana mahal was extremely interesting & haunting.

The train trip back to Ahmedabad built our bonds stronger and gave deeper insights into each other.

A group trip couldn’t have been better. Look forward to many more such escapades in future. 🤗
